TSAVO,KENYA

Tsavo National park is the largest park in Kenya and third largest in Africa.It covers an area approx 21900km2.It is around 250km from Nairobi the capital city and 250km from Mombasa the second largest city in Kenya.There is a direct entry to Tsavo through Malindi.

The Tsavo West National Park is covered in volcanic cones, rocky outcrops and lava flows. The northern part of Tsavo West is the most developed in terms of lodges and infrastructure and has spectacular scenery with a rolling volcanic landscape carpeted in long grass and dense bush.The Big Five can be found in the park along with a fine range of antelope species,cats and wild dogs.

Tsavo west has most of the war sites preserved in relatively good state as the park was gazetted as a protected area in 1948.Most of these sites are fortifications,bridges and observation points.Get into the spirit of World War One a hundred years on and follow on the foot steps one of the greatest Generals in history...
